Pretty much like the one in the picture, except that she has silver streaks and her eyes are pale blue like her counterpart. In terms of size, she's smaller than normal female gyrfalcons, but still a tad bit larger than male ones.「abilities」
Sigrún is more resilient than average dæmons, and even more so compared to normal gyrfalcons. Other than that, she's more sensitive towards the supernatural (compared to average dæmons).
「personality」
I think she shared a lot of Iceland's personality traits, being two sides of the same coin and all, most notable is that of being atrolltease. But unlike him, she's more restrained in terms of teasing - she would prefer teasing Iceland and those her counterpart had considered a friend or more (family, lover, etc) instead of every random passerby who gave her the reason to. In fact, she would scold him if he teased other people a bit too much. But Iceland, being himself, won't listen to her. Cue petty arguments, etc etc. In general, though, I think Sigrún embodies more of his "cold" side - she would prefer to stay calm and observe their surroundings in social situations (while he would do all the talking and trying to be polite / friendly - he's the human here, anyway, well, sort of), giving everyone the cold shoulder (and scary glances) in the process (except for Iceland), opting not to say anything unless: a) he made a bad decision, b) she had a suggestion in mind, c) she doesn't like the person he's talking to, d) there's danger approaching, and e) he said something worth teasing.
And speaking of scary glances, I think she would be the one who's going to do all the intimidating for him, because her suspicion is more pronounced than him. He may even told her to stop intimidating the poor guy / girl / creature in question sometimes. After all, she is a formidable bird, still imposing in her stature despite being smaller than she's supposed to be. Plus, she's protective of him (despite their petty arguments and silly teasings) and she wouldn't hesitate to nullify anything she considered a threat to her counterpart. Luckily, she's more cold-headed than him, which means that she wouldn't just attack about anyone in the streets. She wouldn't rush headlong into anything stupid, either, and she always gave him wise or, at the very least, sensible advices. In fact, she provides those even without his request, much to his annoyance.
Other than that, she also shares his bluntness, intellect, snark, wit, rotten social skills, stubborn, and determined nature. She's also closed off in terms of emotions, although I think she wouldn't mind admitting them to Iceland, provided he probed her a little - the same goes the other way around. But most of the time, this isn't needed, since they pretty much shares the same feelings anyway. Mind connection and all that. Sigrún also happens to be motherly (much to his chagrin) in her own way (the casual parent type, or sister, much like her counterpart). Most of time for the sake of annoying Iceland, but she genuinely cares about him (and his well-being), anyway, even when her efforts aren't welcome.
Overall, I think she would represent his wilder, untamed, rougher side; the nature of his nature (no pun intended). I'd like to think that, somewhere deep down in his heart, Iceland still has the "barbaric" part he was forced to discard when literacy and stuff arrived (think of the Viking Age), and, combined with his fickle, rough nature (uh, the nature of his nature, FYI)...you get the picture. CAN'T BE TAMED and stuff like that. Sigrún, as a bird of prey, the largest falcon who lives life on the edge literally (gyrfalcons doesn't make nests; instead, they live on the edge of cliffs instead) would represent this side perfectly. And also serves as a good message to the rest of the world that just because he's a pacifist doesn't mean you could mess with him.
「relationship」
She had a casual, lighthearted relationship with her counterpart and it's obviously far from tense. And I think that he would get used to her quickly - she teased him as early as when he'd just wake up at the hospital bed in the Observatory. In case it wasn't obvious already, they teased each other a lot, and exchanged (sarcastic) jokes often, aside from ideas and opinions. She also played the role of a wise advisor to him, giving him advices and suggestions about a myriad of things.
「why this form」
BECAUSE I CANBecause, for one, it's Iceland's national animal. And since it's his national animal, then there must be very good reason behind it, not just "simply because it's one of the animals that lived there". We can therefore assumed that it must be because it represents the whole nation in a certain way. In another word, it's the representation of Iceland, including his vision and how he wanted the rest of the world to see him. That covers the nation aspect. As a person, I think it represents him well, too. The exterior betrays the interior - in case of the falcon, it's imposing, and, in case of Iceland, his appearance is striking (due to his pale complexion), but both has a painfully shy nature (although it may not show thanks to his p- p- p- pokerface). The gyrfalcon is also an intelligent bird, scored the highest on the avian intelligence test, which reflected his clever nature.
Falcons also represents determination, passion; it'd be a good shout-out to his own determined, headstrong, passionate nature.
EDIT: This gyrfalcon daemon analysis explains a lot.
「why not a puffin」
Because I'm a fucking hipster and puffins are overused. He already had a pet puffin anyway. Deal with it.
「additional notes」
Since gyrfalcons are widespread, in terms of specifics, Sigrún is an Icelandic Gyrfalcon (in case it was't obvious already). And her namesake is a valkyrie, if you're so inclined to know.
